Rob Roy Academy to Conduct Cut-a-Thon May 29 for The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children

The Rob Roy Academy in Taunton will be participating in a Cut-a-Thon Thursday May 29, National Missing Children’s Day, at the Rob Roy campus located at 1 School Street in Taunton. During the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. students will give haircuts for $5 each on a walk-in basis only. 100% of the proceeds will go to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

One in five girls and one in 10 boys will be sexually exploited by the time they reach adulthood. In addition, one in seven kids will receive sexual solicitations online. The organization teaches parents, guardians and children how to stay safe. With over 2,000 children reported missing each day, another major focus of the Center is the recovery of missing children. Since its establishment in 1984, the Center has assisted law enforcement agencies with more than 127,700 missing child cases, resulting in the recovery of more than 110,200 children.
